Recycling Arrives in the Middle East
Bee'ah and Tactical Connections Introduce the UAE to Canadian Recycling Programs
Toronto, ON, August 16/2007/ -- Bee'ah, The Sharjah Environment Company LLC., is tackling Sharjah's growing environmental problems by installing the first 50, 3-Stream collection bins across the city. The Ruling family of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates has made a personal commitment to adapting the best international standards in order to protect the environment and create a pollution-free Sharjah.
"To date, Sharjah has had no significant recycling programs. Our goal is to build a sustainable program — one with ubiquitous messaging that clearly defines the process and the benefits of keeping Sharjah clean. We are excited that the city and its citizens are warmly supporting the first step in our 'green' pilot program." said Mr. Samer Kamal, CEO of Tactical Connections.
This pilot program aims to educate citizens of the benefits and processes of sorting waste. Toronto's Tactical Connections facilitated the purchase of the 3-Stream bins through local recycling product provider, Envyrozone, and designed the signage and educational iconography for each bin. Each bin has a 7-language instructional guide — making it simple for everyone to recycle. People will be able to separate their beverage containers, paper products, and refuse in the first-ever recycling initiative in Sharjah.
In addition to the 3-Stream collection bins, Bee'ah is supplying 500 blue boxes, free of charge, to one of Sharjah's newest office towers, Al Batha Tower. The program goal is to divert 80% of the building's office waste out of local landfills and into the city's recycling programs. In order to make this program sustainable, Bee’ah will be educating each office and tracking their progress and status.

Bee'ah is developing programs for sorting and recycling residential, industrial, electronic and building material waste. Recycling will take place in the company’s Al Sajaa facility, which will be equipped with the latest technology and directed by an international team of expert technicians and professionals from the recycling industry.
