Second Major Development and Architecture Contract for B+H Architects in the Region
Toronto, ON, Apr 25/ -- Tactical Connections has successfully negotiated and acquired a landmark waterfront development project for its client, B+H Architects, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Following up on the $200 million (CDN) Al Juweiza town project that began last year, Tactical Connections secured an invitation for B+H Architects to provide design concepts for a new 65 story commercial tower, with adjoining 350 room hotel and serviced apartments, located on the waterfront in Sharjah, UAE. Known as Sharjah Tower, the project is valued at over $300 million (CDN).
“This is the second major development and architecture contract we have helped identify, negotiate and secure for B+H Architects.” said Samer Kamal, Senior Partner at Tactical Connections. “This is a particularly important development project for the owners, who were looking for a landmark design that would challenge developments in Dubai and that would make the right statement for the continued growth of Sharjah.”
Sharjah Tower is a structurally complex commercial and residential tower, totaling 65 stories above an upscale shopping concourse. In addition to commercial offices, Sharjah Tower will feature a 5-star adjoining hotel with serviced apartments. Expected to be around 350 rooms, the design calls for the hotel section to “hang” off the tower, using state-of-the-art architecture and engineering, and creating a landmark building in the new downtown of Sharjah.
B+H Architects’ Senior Associate Patrick Fejer, working with Senior Partner and Director of Operations Middle East Tonu Altosaar, developed 3 concepts for the project. The “hanging” tower concept was selected for its visual appeal and for its efficient use of the available waterfront land.
According to Tonu Altosaar at B+H Architects, “This is another great success for us in the region. Having Tactical Connections as our partner has significantly accelerated our Middle Eastern business operations and given us the right market presence and insight to grow our corporate brand in the region.”
“We continue to see tremendous success with our international business development projects, helping companies find opportunities in the Middle East and Europe.” said Brad Kerr, Senior Partner at Tactical Connections. “Pursuing international opportunities are very rewarding, but you need a partner who can help guide you through the cultural, legal, financial and organizational differences that come with setting up in a new country.”
The owners of the property and the project are JMS Property Management and General Trading, a company owned by the Ruling Family in Sharjah.
The structurally complex landmark building is expected to begin construction in early 2007 with an approximate budget of $300 million (CDN).
